Frankfurt calling
Is there a conductor in or near Frankfurt who wants to
work together with a family?
Get in touch if there is as I know someone who needs
some help.

Along Budapest's number 2 tram route
Weather report
Well, it is not exactly a weather report, I am just spending a few moments this Sunday morning to think about those people, in some parts of Germany, Austria and Hungary, who are still feeling the effects of the enormous masses of water that passed though my part of the world earlier this week.
In some areas
the predicted highest water-level is still to come, one of these being Budapest.
While I was
investigating on line what the water is up to in Budapest I discovered this
video clip, showing the high water in the Danube, that is obviously taken from the number 2
tram that runs along the Pest bank of the river.
The number 2 travels right
past the house with the angel plaque on the wall where András Pető used to live, in Balassi Bálint utca.
I wonder whether the water is lapping around the back of Parliament House by now and whether it is encroaching on AP’s old home, I do hope not.
Those already
clearing up are totally exhausted, many are without homes.

Humour

Britain and its
talent!
I have
just been talking to my sister who at the same time had one eye on the
television and the finals of Britain’s Got Talent. She actually predicted that
this act would win –
Apparently
it did not, this young man came second on the screen but as far as I am
concerned he is a winner.
I will
have to translate some of his jokes for my teenagers at work; they will just
love it, especially Little Princess who has got such a huge sense of humour
too.
I had tears
in my eyes listening to Jack, yes, he is funny, but the tears where not only
because I was laughing so much – although I did laugh out loud very times at his jokes, something that
I do not do very often!
According
to my sister, as she was watching TV with one eye, it was a Hungarian group called Attraction that won Britain’s got Talent! Sis told me that the Magyars did give a performance
about England this week, something that Sis thought very considerate of them.
There
is a nice picture at the top of the page with another of Britain’s very
talented entertainers, having fun in Morecombe with my sister!
